Christmas is coming

I suppose winter is truly setting in and I need to update the look of my blog. I'll get around to it...eventually.

As is usually the case, I'm behind. In everything. This week, my whole house has been battling colds. Anna keeps telling me, "Nose runnin'!", Brian is sawing logs like a seasoned lumberjack at night, and I woke up this morning with my left eye "yucked" shut with green ooze. Fearing it was pinkeye, I stayed home until I could see a doctor. I haven't had pinkeye in nearly ten years. I figured the bout I had of it my senior year of high school--the day before prom--had allowed me to pay my "pinkeye dues" for a good long while.

I'm hoping the antibiotic drops the doctor prescribed will straighten me out so that I can finish my last week of work before a much-anticipated two-week Christmas break.

This year, I expect that Christmas will be really fun at my house. Anna is old enough to be enamored by snowmen, lights, and Christmas trees, and she talks a lot about "Baby Jesus," who always seems to be MIA from our Little People Nativity set. I have found him tucked lovingly in Anna's bed, tossed carelessly in a small felt shopping bag with other goodies Anna has collected, and hiding among dust bunnies under the couch. Right now, he's actually with the stable, which is a pleasant surprise. Joseph, I just noticed, however, doesn't seem to be anywhere in sight. *Sigh*
